#4 in the series, BRIDE FOR A NIGHT is a standalone read with a HEA. A HOT Steamy hero so be prepared for the bedroom scenes. I loved this story about a wounded child growing into a wounded man. Set in New Zealand, the town of KeriKeri, there are lots of things about New Zealand to learn as well.The series is about brides and this story is no different. The family owns a bridal shop in town. They design and hand make all their dresses. Bianca and her twin do all the sewing, her mother runs the shop and the other sisters have jobs as well. Freddie was their childhood friend, Bianca has loved him since grade school but after graduating high school he joins the Army and leaves town to not be heard of again. She never got over him but she never heard from him again either.Freddie was some what of a wild child. He was constantly in some kind of trouble at school, he frequently came to school with black eyes, limping, no money for trips; it was obvious a lot was going on with this child. After 8 years he shows back up in town. He has changed very little except for getting older and becoming a man. He is still dark and troubled. He has come to spend time with his brother after being released from the Army. He was seriously wounded and his service was no longer needed so he is at loose ends and has no idea what to do with the rest of his life. The brother is a total jerk and now he has no place to stay and has no idea what to do next.That is when, Noelle steps in. She is Bianca's mother and she is the mother that makes everything better. She gives him a place to stay and time to heal. Bianca is determined to be his friend and to help him. She still loves him but she knows he doesn't want to hear that. There is a bit of drama as he finds his way back into the light. It is a great romance and a great story. There are lessons all over the place for everyone to learn. We are so quick to judge another's actions without knowing the why of their behavior. This is a very good read. It is entertaining and interesting. I loved it. I love Noelle and was happy to find out at the end of this story that Noelle will get her own story. A widow at 50 she wonders if a loving relationship is out of her reach. I'm happy to discover that it is not!!! This is a very good series and each book just get better than the one before it.I was not paid for this review. I am not a writer nor do I know one. Freddie is someone whom Bianca has known for as long as she can remember. He has always been slightly secretive about what happened at home but to Bianca that was his normal.Freddie is back in En Zed after finally mustering out of the Army and crashes a party that is celebrating International Beer Day. (It is a real thing btw on August 3rd.) He was supposed to be meeting his brother there since he was supposed to be staying with his brother instead of his parents’ home. But his brother never shows. And Freddie meets Bianca there and things start to happen.Bianca doesn’t trust men after a horrid relationship at uni. She is leery of ever being in one again. But something about Freddie calls to her. And when you add her mother, Noelle, trying to bring these two injuries souls together, you know that things will start to happen.The bridal shop is taking part in a huge bridal show and Noelle asks Freddie to be Bianca’s faux groom. But can Bianca and Freddie finally drop their shields enough to let their real feelings and desires to come out? And act on them?
I absolutely loved this book. The About This Book section is so on the mark: “His wounded body, her wounded heart.†Freddie and Bianca’s story is just perfect. Serenity Woods paints a picture as she writes, the reader becomes a part of the story, as if standing at the side, watching the story Love this, love her books. Thank you, Serenity!
Romance is heartwarming to know love will be there when you meet the right person. That God will guide you. That relationships are hard work that they need to be nurtured. Don't take someone for granted because life can change in a dime.
This series is so good. I’ve loved every book by Serenity Woods, and this book was no different. Absolutely can’t wait for the next two books in the series!

Bride for a Night gives us Bianca and Freddie, two friends who lost contact when Freddie joined the army.We first met Bianca in her twin sister, Phoebe's, book Bride in Trouble. Bianca seemed more reserved than the rest of her family, and after the events in Bride in Secret, getting an emotionally scarred Bianca out of her own head could be a challenge.Freddie has just been discharged from the army and has elected to stay with his brother due his extremely limited options. Finding Bianca still as beautiful and quiet as he remembers, the attraction he rejected is even more difficult to ignore. When he can't stay with his brother, Bianca's mom offers him lodging in exchange for acting as handyman at her home and a paying gig helping around the bridal shop. Spending all that time around the Goldsmith's pushes both Freddie and Bianca into confronting their attraction.We have two people who are avoiding certain connections, because of what they are holding onto emotionally. You could tell Freddie was carrying some heavy trouble from his past, which he didn't want to dirty Bianca with. Bianca was patient with Freddie, but still wanted to protect her heart from another stomping. The little twist toward the end was quite unexpected. Freddie's behavior made so much more sense when he came clean to Bianca.I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.
